I downloaded a file but cant open it

I agree with all of the above. I tried installing QuickBooks Desktop Accountant from my software downloads online. Went through all the prompts on 2 different computers. At the end of the installation the "Open QuickBooks" button is grayed out and there is no icon on my desktop. It does however add "QuickBooks Server " to my add or remove programs list.
