Alpha smart downloading to a pc

I know it works on XP because I just tried it today. I'm also new at using Alphasmarts just got my two Neo2 and my AS a few days ago so I'm no expert. Post Reply Preview. Thank you very much. I think I may have tried to download that but it didnt work. Its a concern though where to download these things from too without downloading somthing nasty. I will check though am not on my pc now or maybe try your other option - would booting my pc with xp mean that my operating system would be perminantly changed?

I tried installing it under Windows 10 now, and it didn't work. A viritual machine is like having an old computer inside your new computer When it's set up you can start it like any other program and then inside from the viritual machine you can connect to your AS Maybe someone else has figured out a way to connect the AS to Windows 10?

Very appreciative of your trying I will try this way of running old programs on Windows Maybe this will work. That actually worked! I now have the Alphasmart Manager 2,3 installed and working on Windows Now it's just the drivers for the AS In Windows XP the drivers installed automaticly Hope this solves your problems! My link didn't work, sorry For anyone going the virtual machine route, there is a simple way - no teenagers required!

Install VirtualBox, a free virtual machine product from Oracle - www. Download a Windows 7 Virtualbox image, unzip it and open it in Virtualbox. Hey presto, a running Windows 7 machine will appear on your desktop. I'll try that someday soon! However Charlotte for your needs I think Virutal machine is unnessisary.

My AS is officially dead now. So I cannot try finding the right drivers for it to work in Windows Maybe it will work out of the box for you. If not, then maybe you can download the drivers for Windows Vista from Renissans homepage. Let us know how it goes! Thanks very much R. Brautigan for all your efforts. Again, once you open this application, pay attention to the Device Manager window. If you see the list collapse and re-expand, check for a device that has a yellow exclamation point or question mark may be labeled AlphaSmart Communication Driver. If you see this, go to KB for resolution. Select the DellTouch application and click [Remove].

Once uninstall is complete, reboot the workstation. A Found New Hardware Wizard should appear. If prompted to search Windows Update, choose No, not this time and then click [Next]. On the next window, keep the recommended option to Install the software automatically.
